Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham January Sale Rescheduled to Thursday 16 February

The Tattersalls Ireland Cheltenham January Sale will now take place at 1.30pm on Thursday 16th February at Cheltenham racecourse. Originally scheduled to take place after racing on Saturday 28th January this new date is just over two weeks later than initially planned.

Speaking of the change of date Tattersalls Ireland Director of Horses In Training Sales Richard Pugh commented:

"In 2016 we moved the January Sale to this equivalent date and it worked extremely well for us so this is not an unprecedented move - it is a proven one. We are committed to ensuring that these sales continue to bring the appropriate mix of quality and quantity which serves vendors and purchasers best and we feel that deferring the sale to February 16th achieves this.

The recent Cheltenham Sales in December and November highlight the Cheltenham success in providing the right calibre of horse to the market in appropriate quantities.

The decision as in 2016 to move the January Sale two weeks later ensured a strong catalogue with depth in quality and numbers and we are confident that this move will once again be a benefit to all clients."

This Sale will take place at 1.30pm on Thursday 16th February with pre-sales vetting taking place on Wednesday 15th February. Viewing will take place on Wednesday 15th February also. Entries for the main catalogue will close on Monday morning February 6th while Wildcards will be taken up until Monday morning February 13th.
