The catalogue for the Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale, which takes place on Tuesday 10 September at the Ascot Racecourse Stables, is now online and can be viewed at www.tattersallsascot.com. The Sale features 167 yearlings, all of which are eligible for the £150,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes.
Last year's sale has produced sixteen individual two-year-old winners to date, with seven runners at Royal Ascot. These also include the 3 black type winners FLIPPA THE STRIPPA, LIBERTY BEACH and SHADN, whilst VENTURA REBEL was a close 2nd in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. Meanwhile the leading earner from last year's renewal is BETTYS HOPE, the recent winner of the £250,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint, who was purchased for only £3,000.
This year's sale has catalogued offspring by leading sires DANDY MAN, DARK ANGEL, FARHH, HOLY ROMAN EMPEROR, SHOWCASING and STARSPANGLEDBANNER. Sires with their first crop of two-year-olds also feature with yearlings by ANJAAL, CABLE BAY, DUE DILIGENCE, GUTAIFAN and OUTSTRIP. Those looking for first crop yearling sires will find seventeen freshmen represented, including those by AWTAAD, BELARDO, NEW BAY and TWILIGHT SON. Of those catalogued, thirty seven are out of two-year-old winning mares and there are own or half brothers and sisters to fifty six two-year-old winners.
The largest consignments come from Bearstone Stud and Jamie Railton (Agent) with 10 apiece, whilst Trickledown Stud follow next with a draft of nine.
